Quicklime

CaO

CarboCore supplies quicklime for steel production, flue gas treatment, water purification, and chemical manufacturing.

Quicklime begins with geology, but its value is proven in production. Egypt's quicklime starts as high-calcium limestone from ancient seabeds, burned above 900 °C to drive off carbon dioxide and leave highly reactive calcium oxide. Origin alone does not decide performance. Available CaO, reactivity, residual CO₂ and particle size do. That is where every CarboCore order begins.

INDUSTRIAL APPLICATIONS

Applications

Iron and steel production
Fluxing and slag conditioning
Non-ferrous metal processing
Mining and mineral processing
Ore flotation and pH control
Soil stabilization
Road and infrastructure construction
Drying wet soil and sludge
Water and wastewater treatment
Acid neutralization
Flue-gas desulfurization
Industrial emission control
Cement and building-material production
Glass manufacturing
Precipitated Calcium Carbonate production
Chemical manufacturing
Contaminated-land remediation

Applications are indicative and subject to the selected grade’s chemical composition, particle-size distribution, surface treatment and processing characteristics. CarboCore’s technical team supports customers in selecting the appropriate grade for their formulation and manufacturing process.

Food, feed, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, medical and potable-water applications require separately evaluated and approved grades. Compliance should not be claimed unless the relevant certification and regulatory documentation are available.

Quicklime causes serious eye damage and skin irritation. Handle with eye and skin protection as described in the SDS.

Values are typical reference data for Egyptian quicklime supplied by CarboCore and are intended for buyer screening. Final specifications, reactivity, size and suitability are confirmed per grade, application and shipment lot on the certificate of analysis. Samples are available on request.

GRADE SELECTION

Grade Selection & Performance

The final specification should establish:

Total CaO and available CaO

Report separately using identified test methods.

Reactivity

Define slaking time or temperature rise under agreed test conditions.

Residual CO₂ and loss on ignition

Establish limits to assess material condition.

Particle size

Specify the size range, fines, and oversize limits.

Impurities

Confirm MgO, SiO₂, Al₂O₃, Fe₂O₃, and application-specific requirements.

QUALITY ASSURANCE

Quality & Documentation

Request the Technical Data Sheet (TDS), Safety Data Sheet (SDS), and batch-specific Certificate of Analysis (COA).

Technical approval should establish composition, available lime, reactivity, and sizing. Batch documentation should distinguish measured results from guaranteed acceptance limits.

COA

LOGISTICS

Packaging & Supply

Packaging options include 25 kg bags, 1,000 kg jumbo bags, and bulk silo supply. Final packaging, loading quantities, and shipment arrangements are confirmed in the quotation.

⚠ SAFETY NOTE — Storage Recommendation

Quicklime reacts with water to form hydrated lime and releases substantial heat. Keep tightly protected from water and humidity at all times. Storage and handling must follow the product SDS.

Share your application, required available CaO, reactivity, particle size, quantity, packaging preference, and destination port.
