Hydrated Lime

Ca(OH)₂

CarboCore supplies hydrated lime for water treatment, construction, agriculture, and industrial processing applications.

Hydrated lime begins with geology, but its value is proven in production. Egypt's hydrated lime starts as high-calcium limestone, burned into quicklime and then slaked with controlled water to form a fine, dry calcium hydroxide powder. Origin alone does not decide performance. Available lime, fineness, moisture and whiteness do. That is where every CarboCore order begins.

Available grades: Technical specifications and application-specific grades are available upon request.

Applications are indicative and subject to the selected grade’s chemical composition, particle-size distribution, surface treatment and processing characteristics. CarboCore’s technical team supports customers in selecting the appropriate grade for their formulation and manufacturing process.

Food, feed, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, medical and potable-water applications require separately evaluated and approved grades. Compliance should not be claimed unless the relevant certification and regulatory documentation are available.

Hydrated lime causes serious eye damage and skin irritation. Handle with eye, skin and dust protection as described in the SDS.

Values are typical reference data for Egyptian hydrated lime supplied by CarboCore and are intended for buyer screening. Final specifications, fineness and suitability are confirmed per grade, application and shipment lot on the certificate of analysis. Samples are available on request.

GRADE SELECTION

Grade Selection

The final specification should also establish:

Available lime

Reported with a clear basis — as CaO equivalent or Ca(OH)₂.

Carbonate content

To assess carbonation of the material.

Free moisture

Maximum agreed for storage and processing.

Fineness

Particle-size distribution and sieve-residue limits.

Bulk density

With the measurement method stated.

QUALITY ASSURANCE

Quality & Documentation

Request the Technical Data Sheet (TDS), Safety Data Sheet (SDS), and batch-specific Certificate of Analysis (COA).

Technical approval should confirm the selected grade, analytical methods, acceptance limits, and suitability for the intended process. Drinking-water and food-related applications require separately verified grades and relevant approvals.

LOGISTICS

Packaging & Supply

Packaging options include 25 kg PP bags and 1,000 kg jumbo bags. Final packaging, palletisation, and loading quantities are confirmed in the quotation.

Storage Recommendation

Store sealed in a dry, covered location, limiting exposure to moisture and atmospheric carbon dioxide. Follow the SDS for dust control and handling.
